Venue Lore
​​Originally built in 1865 as the home of Charles Benjamin Mander, a paint and varnish manufacturer, The Mount was later acquired by the Mander family in 1890 and extensively refurbished. The property was extended in 1891 alongside its sister house, Wightwick Manor, and became known as the lighter, more lavish home, designed for comfort and entertaining.

At the heart of The Mount is the former Library built in 1908, now the Great Hall. This breathtaking Edwardian space was once considered one of the most elegant rooms in the Midlands, hosting magnificent balls and celebrations, and now, the beautiful setting for our wedding day.
​
Over the years, The Mount has welcomed many notable guests, including Queen Mary, The Beatles, and The Jacksons. After becoming a luxury hotel in 1952, it was lovingly restored in 2011 into the stunning independent four-star hotel it is today.
